Booi Brothers Petroleum (BBP) approached the drilling project with a meticulous focus on technological advancement and safety. Through effective collaboration with drilling partners Torque Africa Group, Pytheas, and PASA, the project team successfully executed the drilling process.
One unexpected development was the absence of high-pressure zones, contrary to initial projections.
Torque Africa Group, equipped with a state-of-the-art drilling rig, has taken proactive measures to ensure safety and security. The company has also adhered to stringent regulations regarding the use of Blow-Out-Preventers and on-site safety protocols.
Weekly management meetings, involving representatives from BBP, Pytheas, and PASA, prioritise environmental concerns and worker safety. The discovery of hydrocarbons has prompted additional safety measures, including mandatory gas mask usage.
Joerg Enge, Project Manager, stressed BBP’s commitment to human safety and operational efficiency. “Our policy is clear: human safety is paramount. We prioritise the well-being of our personnel and will not compromise on safety standards,” Enge stated.
“The financial implications of drilling operations are significant, and we approach every aspect of the project with utmost caution.”
BBP recognises the environmental sensitivity of the project site and has implemented measures to minimise its impact.
The company also maintains open communication with all stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
